The Kala Chethana Kathakali Company brought their vibrant and colourful show to a full house in Caryford Hall on Saturday 21 September in a performance supported by Take Art. The dance style is one of the most powerful forms of visual storytelling and, with vivid costumes combined with atmospheric music and lighting, the audience’s imagination was transported for the evening to South India.
During the interval, Indian snacks were served, supplied by our local restaurant, Miah’s Castle.
Earlier, the performers had encouraged visitors to view the elaborate process of applying makeup.
