Essential Information
Caryford Community Hall (Ansford, Castle Cary, BA7 7JJ) is a large purpose-built facility with three spaces available for hire, either individually or in combination. The hall is suitable for hire by private individuals, community groups and businesses for a wide range of activities, meetings and events and also has established groups offering activities on either a weekly or monthly basis. It sits in extensive grounds with free off-road parking for approximately 80 vehicles (4 disabled places).
The three rooms available for hire, each with audio-visual facilities, comprise:
- Main Hall – One of the largest halls in the area – which in conjunction with our modern kitchen facilities can be configured for a range of events, including seated functions with catering; lectures, large meetings or performance with seating in rows; or open plan for dance, exercise, parties and similar events.
- Small Hall – Due to open on 1 June 2024, our smaller hall is suitable for groups requiring less space, equipped for either seating around tables, seating in rows or use open plan.
- Meeting Room – Also part of our new extension and due to open on 1 June 2024, the Churchouse Room offers greater privacy with seating for up to 8-12 people around a conference table.
We are conveniently located, close to the A371, in Maggs Lane directly opposite Ansford Academy. We have a full alcohol licence and can provide bar facilities if required.

Our facilities will be further improved, developing the foyer area and providing new male and disabled toilet facilities, once we secure funding for the third phase of our extension project.
